Postpartum Services
The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. ~Rajneesh

A woman begins her journey into motherhood by asking "What should I do?" "Should I do it this way or that way?" When the baby arrives and she is in the thick of the middle of the night feedings and the never ending diaper changes she asks "what must I do" "What must be done next?" Lastly, when she is finally secure in who she is as a mother, she begins to say "I DO" "I do it this way for my child!"
Beginning with having my own two babies, spending ten years as a day care teacher and now working for four years as a birth and postpartum doula I have had experience with hundreds of newborn babies. I can gently guide you in your own journey through the should's and must's until you get to that strong, confident, independent "I do!" "I do it this way for my child!"

Post Partum Doula Services Provided
:
Postpartum services are designed to your own specific needs. Some new families prefer that I help them learn how to hold, bathe and care for their newborn. I can show you some 'tricks of the trade' and help you get confident in these areas. Others would just like a to catch up on sleep while I care for the baby and do some light household cleaning such as laundry and dishes. And some new mothers are just feeling down and need to talk about their experience in birthing and the burdens they are feeling as a new mom. I can provide a loving ear to allow you to get some feelings off of your chest. Most families will use my services in a combination of all these things.
I am often available for 'emergency' services. If you are having a meltdown and need someone ASAP to help you please call me! Often women have one really hard day and have a hard time recovering from the experience. If I can make that day better for you I would love to help! I can receive my email messages on my blackberry wherever I am so send me a message or call me if you need help right away. I cannot guarantee that I will be available, as I may be attending a birth, but I will do my best!
Postpartum services are $25 an hour with a discounted rate of $22 for families who have worked with me through childbirth or HypnoBirthing classes.
